TEAM BUILDING WORKSHOP
- How do I get everyone to accept their roles, even those who don’t get to play much?
- We could be a solid team if we can get every player on the same page
- We do team bonding sessions, isn’t that enough to get the team to play as one?
Team building is not simply about ropes courses, camp fires, and team meals. This is only a small portion of enhancing upon team cohesion. These activities promote social cohesion, which can help establish relationships between teammates. What is most critical is task cohesion-getting players to work together as one on the practice field and match court. The workshop curriculum is very detailed as to how to maximize task cohesion for improved play. Helping players and coaches establish a high level of task cohesion entails brainstorming a vision for the team, goals, team standards, rules, qualities, and practices critical for team success. Accountability standards are then established which the team leaders (captains and coaches) will carryout on a regular basis. Continual upkeep and evaluation of progress is reinforced throughout the workshop and follow-up.
